Welcome to Square Roots North End Halifax

Square Roots North End is a volunteer-run little veggie sale that takes place each month in the North End of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Our goal is to reduce food waste while providing fresh, affordable produce to our community. Each month, we work with local farmers to purchase seconds produce, such as carrots that are too big or onions that are too small, and resell it to the community for just $1/lbs.

Everyone is welcome to shop our veggie sale! We can’t wait to see you.

how it works

Each month, we work with local farmers to purchase their seconds produce and then set up our little veggie sale at 2700 Robie St. Customers come out and shop our produce, selecting the items and quantity of each veggie they’d like for just $1/lbs. Produce is first come, first serve. We accept cash, debit and credit.

Square Roots North End is one of more than 10 locations across Nova Scotia, founded by Enactus Saint Marys University.
