We’ve received a few questions regarding our upcoming produce giveaway event on Sunday, August 23, so here is a little FAQ ☀️🌽🥔

These incredible giveaway events are organized by a very small volunteer group in the community. Volunteers work through the year to find grants to sponsor these events. As we don’t have the resources larger organizations do, our veggie giveaways operate a little differently.

What time is the Produce Giveaway Event?
Sunday, August 23 from 10:30 am - 12 pm

Where is the Produce Giveaway Event taking place?
2700 Robie St, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Is there parking onsite?
While there is limited parking on site, there is plenty of parking on King St, which our location backs onto.

Who is welcome to come to the Produce Giveaway Event?
Everyone is welcome!

How many lbs of produce per household?
Each household is welcome to select up to 10 lbs of produce!

Can I pay extra if I go over the 10 lbs per household limit?
To keep it easy for our volunteers and to ensure everyone has access to free produce at this event, we are only allowing each household is allowed up to 10 lbs of produce only.

What does my RSVP mean?
RSVPs simply allow us to plan for the number of people who intend to come to the event. All produce is first come, first served. An RSVP does not guarantee produce.

Is there a line?
Yes, as we often have more than 400 people attend our Giveaway events, there is a line. We kindly ask that if you’d like to come early, that you come no more than 30 minutes early to give our team time to set up. Once we open at 10:30 am the line goes fast! We also have freezies available for everyone while they wait

Can I pick up for someone else?
We kindly ask that you only pick up produce for your household. If you know someone in need who is unable to attend the event, send us an email and we can provide you local resources that may be able to help.
